CAMPANIA. Neapolis. Circa 300 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 7.47 g, 4 h), struck under the magistrate Ouill...(in Latin, Villius). Head of Parthenope to right; around, four dolphins, with the two lower ones emerging behind Parthenope's neck. Rev. ΝΕΟΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ Man-headed bull to right; above, Nike flying to right to crown him; below, OYIΛ. HN III 576. Sambon 458. SNG ANS 338-9 (same obverse die). SNG BN 719-727 (same obverse die). SNG Copenhagen 413-414. Struck from well engraved dies, with a portrait of excellent style. Very fine.
