KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 13 mm, 2.03 g, 5 h), struck under Philip III Arrhidaios, uncertain mint in Cilicia, c. 320-318/7. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on a throne with back, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left,ΦΙ; below throne, ΛΣ. Price 2962 (as Side?). Toned. Lightly porous, otherwise, very fine.
