KINGS OF MACEDON. Antigonos III Doson, 229-221 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 17.07 g, 12 h), in the types of Antigonos Gonatas, Amphipolis, circa 229-221/0. Horned head of Pan to left, wearing goat's skin tied around his neck and with lagobolon behind; all within the center of a Macedonian shield adorned with seven stars within double crescents. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOΥ Athena Alkidemos striding to left, hurling thunderbolt with her upraised right hand and holding shield with her left; in field to left, winged Macedonian helmet with transverse crest; in field to right, KT monogram. Panagopoulou Period IV, Group 1, 8 (Oo4/R08). SNG Copenhagen 1201 (same dies). SNG Lockett 1525. With an interesting and unusual depiction of the helmet symbol. Good very fine.

It is very possible that the obverse die Oo4 is a recut of O01 (if it is not the same die to begin with) as there are certain flaws that appear in both dies in exactly the same spots.
