KINGS OF PAEONIA. Patraos, circa 335-315 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 12.51 g, 3 h), Astibos or Damastion. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΠΑΤΡΑΟΥ Paeonian horseman, wearing crested helmet and full armor, galloping to right and spearing fallen warrior; below horse's tail, kantharos. HGC 3, 148. Sotheby's, "Paeonian Hoard," 191-4 (same dies). Cf. SNG ANS 1030-1 (same obverse die; no kantharos). With a very elegant obverse. Reverse slightly doubled. Good very fine.
