LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20.5 mm, 7.82 g, 10 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of barley ears and triple-pendant earring; below chin, ΔΑΙ. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley, with leaf to right; above leaf, plough to right; below leaf, ΜΑΧ. HN III 1581. Johnston Class C, 1.31 (same dies). A well struck and toned example. Die flaw behind head, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
