MYSIA. Lampsakos. Circa 500-450 BC. Diobol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.91 g, 3 h), c. 500-470. Janiform female heads. Rev. Head of Athena left, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with a wheel on the bowl; the whole within swallow incuse square. Baldwin, Lampsakos Group A, I, pl. V, 14-5. Cf. SNG Ashmolean 654-6 (without wheel on helmet). SNG BN 1128. Particularly elegant and of very elaborate style. Reverse slightly doubled, otherwise, very fine.
