PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. Sardes. Time of Darios I to Xerxes I, Circa 505-480 BC. Siglos (Silver, 15 mm, 5.16 g). Persian king, wearing radiate tiara, in running/kneeling stance to right, drawing bow in his left hand, and with a quiver over his shoulder. Rev. Oblong incuse. BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 23. Carradice Type II (pl. XI, 12). Well centered and lightly toned. Nearly very fine.
