CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. Imitating Philip II of Macedon, 3rd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 13.88 g, 1 h), imitating Amphipolis. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm branch and reins, riding horse to right; below horse, thunderbolt over Ζ; below horse's foreleg, dolphin to right. CCCBM I 2-3 and S1-S4. Lanz 352-6. OTA pl. IV, Types 10 and 14. Well centered, and with attractive find patina. Very fine.
