Lydia, Tripolis. Pseudo-Autonomous. Antonine era, ca. A.D. 138-192. AE 16 (15.6 mm, 2.64 g, 6 h). Cuirassed bust of Athena left, wearing crested helmet, aegis on cuirass / ΤΡΙΠΟΛЄΙΤΩΝ, Telesphorus standing facing with arms crossed, wearing hooded cloak. GRPC Lydia 24; SNG von Aulock 3315; BMC 23; RPC IV -. aVF. Very Rare.

BMC and GRPC date this rare coin to the period of the Antonines but it is unpublished in RPC IV, suggesting it may have been reattributed to another time period. It is unlikely the type went unnoticed by the RPC team.
