A wonderful pair of Medals struck in commemoration of Napoleon III's proclamation of the empire in Paris which would be confirmed by referendum by an overwhelming majority of voters on December 2, 1852. Expansive in size and appropriate for this monumental occasion, the silver piece having patinated to a pleasing mellow dove-gray with prominent cobalt silhouettes. Sold with the original green leather case.
