Revolutionary Government. Toussaint L'Ouverture 2 Escalin ND (1802) AU55 NGC, KM23. A very scarce revolutionary issue, struck during the revolt against French authority in Haiti. Lightly struck, as is typical for the type, with a high degree of shimmering luster that rolls across the fields confirming the near-uncirculated designation. At present no representatives have been seen by either PCGS or NGC in Mint State, confirming the utter scarcity of higher-grade examples.
