"St. George's Agricultural and Immigration Society" silver Specimen Prize Medal 1840 SP61 PCGS, 60mm. 90.75gm. By Edward Avern. Awarded to William Hosack, Esquire, for the Finest Yearling Colt exhibited from Woodstock Estate, 1840. A handsome large-size award Medal, presented to William Hosack, who owned estates in Jamaica, but returned to Edinburgh in 1872. According to the original DNW listing, this is one of three similar prize Medals awarded to William Hosack, two of the others also previously owned by Bob Lyall, and the last in the custody of Jamaica college. Sunset-amber toned fields. Sold with old collector tags.
