Ferdinand VII silver "Battle of Monte de las Cruces" Medal 1810 MS63 PCGS, Grove-F-198a. 53mm. An important historical Medal struck for the pivotal battle in the Mexican War of Independence at Monte de las Cruces. This Royalist propaganda piece depicts the bust of Ferdinand VII over a scene of the battle, while the reverse inscription commends the efforts of the troops and their commanders, including Taorcuato Trujillo. Sharp throughout and watery in the fields, with gleaming traces of pastel iridescence.
