Republic 8 Reales 1859/7 Go-PF MS65 NGC, Guanajuato mint, KM377.8, DP-Go43. A pleasing overdate issue, especially when encountered this fine. According to Dunigan & Parker, authors of the seminal Mexican 8 Reales work Resplandores, "overdates are much more difficult to locate in higher grades." We note that the present example, with full satiny brilliance and amber silhouettes, is tied with just one other example at PCGS as the finest certified.
