Republic copper Specimen Pattern 50 Centavos 1869 Mo-C XF Details (Environmental Damage) Brown PCGS, Mexico City mint, KM-Pn117, Guttag-Unl., Buttrey/Hubbard-Unl. A characteristically low-grade, though excessively rare, Pattern type, notably absent from the Guttag, Gerber, and Norweb collections. We are aware of one other cross the auction block in recent years--a PR64 Brown sold by Sedwick in November 2018, which remains the only example certified by NGC. Despite the admitted environmental damage, virtually all of the coin's integral details are still observable, with even the eagle's feathers showing relatively light and even wear.
