Ferdinand VI gold 8 Escudos 1751 LM-J UNC Details (Reverse Damage) NGC, Lima mint, KM50, Cal-764, Onza-577. The first year for milled coin production at the Lima mint, and one of only three dates that saw the use of this bust type. In spite of some mild laminations across the portrait, Ferdinand's bust appears atypically well-rendered for the series, die polish hugging nearly every recess of his hair and armor while next to no softness exists whatsoever. The noted damage appears on the reverse around the word INITIUM, likely all that keeps this piece from the higher end of Mint State.
