James VI (I) "Thistle" Merk 1602 MS64 NGC, Edinburgh mint, KM16, S-5497.6.88gm. A standout example of the type, which usually comes heavily circulated and for which collectible examples typically average VF or so. This observation is backed by NGC's certified population as well, which reveals only three examples in total: two VF's and a single uncirculated example-- this MS64. Veiled in deep cabinet tone, accented throughout by bright touches of gold and emerald iridescence.
