Emission from 17 July 1346. +PhILIPPVS: DЄI: GRΛCIΛ: FRΛnCORVM: RЄX, Philippe seated facing on gothic throne, scepter held at right, to left, rod topped by hand of justice; all within tressure with lis in spandrels; four saltires below foot of throne / +•XP'C: VInCIT: XP'C: RЄGИAT: XP'C: IMPЄRΛT (triple annulet stops), cross fleury, quatrefoil within curvilinear rhombus-shaped center, inward-facing lis in angles; all within quadrilobe with crowns in spandrels. Admirably struck and centered on a beautifully full and round flan. Though extremely minor unidirectional hairlines can be detected on the reverse under good light, in light with the noted "reverse cleaned" designation, these are truly of minimal visual consequence to the piece, which otherwise maintains fully choice eye appeal.
