Louis XV gold 2 Louis d'Or 1755-(cow) MS62 NGC, Pau mint, KM522, Dup-1642, Gad-346a (R3). An incredibly fleeting emission from the French province of Béarn to say the least, with Gadoury ranking it just behind the prohibitively scarce 1745, 1752, and 1769 in terms of overall rarity for the Louis au bandeau type. Lightly adjusted over the obverse as is typical for the issue, the reverse proves truly show-stopping, with unbroken waves of lustrous resplendence confirming nearly choice preservation.
