(g) George III (1760-1820), Half-Guinea, 1813, seventh laureate head, edge obliquely milled, 4.20g, 12h (Selig 1065-66; Stratos 50; EGC 859; MCE 448; Spink 3737), wrenched from a mount with buckling to flan at 12 o'clock, flashed and gilt, otherwise struck details a bolder very fine, a popular compliment to the 'Military Guinea' of the same date.
