Central Bank of the Federation of Malaya, Spectacular photo model for the face of a proposed $10 note for the new Federation, stamp on reverse reads "DLR Studio Photographed 25 July 1957'.
On 31 August 1957 Malaya received its independence. In anticipation, prototype banknotes were prepared in the name of the proposed Central Bank. An exceptional example of these appears here.
The $10 does not have the bank's name engraved, but the date places it clearly in mid-1957.
