St Kitts Colonial Bank Promissory Note, for $140.91, 27 February 1857, Colonial Bank was founded by royal charter in 1836 to facilitate trade in the West Indies. It then started operating as a private subsidiary of Barclays Bank in 1925 by the Act of Parliament, as Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas) which issued banknotes for various West Indies region including St Kitts. pinholes, very fine, interesting and scarce.
