SURINAME. Zilverbon-Suriname. 2 1/2 Gulden, 1920. P-103. PMG Very Fine 20.
The 2 1/2 Gulden is the highest denomination of the August 1st, 1920 series. Just two examples of this Pick number have been graded by PMG at the time of cataloging. The face displays green underprint with a blue & brown border design. The reverse design is found in a dark green ink with the denomination at center, and the top two corners. We sold the other PMG graded example, a Fine 12, in our August 2021 ANA sale for $5,760 and we expect this Very Fine graded treasure should vastly eclipse that number. PMG Pop 1/None Finer.
