CELTIC. Central Europe. Vindelici. AV Stater (7.71 gms), "Vogelkopf" type, 2nd-1st Centuries B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. Scratches.
cf. Lanz-5. Obverse: Head of bird right; all within laurel wreath; Reverse: Torque containing six pellets. Another interesting and fairly SCARCE representation from this cup-shaped series of the Vindelici, known as Regenbogenschüsselchen, or "little rainbow cups." A few light marks and edge cracks, but rather bold and brilliant.
