HGC 3.2, 1750n; Thompson-Unlisted; Seyrig, Parion-13 (dies IX/M; this coin, illustrated on pl. XL and listed in footnote 19 as "Salton"). Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon; Reverse: Athena seated left on throne, holding crowning Nike, resting elbow upon shield, and cradling spear; grain ear to outer left, monogram to inner right. Well centered and deeply toned, with only light, even handling. In Seyrig's 1958 study, this coin is illustrated as the only specimen for this die-combination. Henri Seyrig, one of France's most famous numismatists of the 20th century, thanked Mark Salton, which illustrates his close contacts to the academic community.
