PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Arsinoe II Philadelphos, Died 270/68 B.C. AV Mnaieion (Oktadrachm) (27.90 gms), Alexandreia Mint, struck under Ptolemy VI and/or VIII ca. 204-116 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Edge Cut.
Svor-1499; SNG Cop-322. Obverse: Veiled head right, wearing stephanos and ram's horn; lotus-tipped scepter in background, K to left; Reverse: Filleted double cornucopia, with grape bunches hanging at sides. Despite a few noted edge cuts, this barely handled specimen presents a golden-orange nature to the color and sharp overall features. A great budget example of this popular and impressive deified issue.
