NERO, A.D. 54-68. Syria, Antioch. AR Tetradrachm, dated RY 10 & year 112 Caesarean Era (A.D. 64). NGC EF.
RPC-I, 4188; McAlee-265a; Prieur-89. Obverse: Laureate bust right, wearing aegis; Reverse: Eagle, with wings spread, standing right on thunderbolt; palm frond to right. A very strong strike illuminates a charming portrait of Nero, with hints of underlying luster throughout. This issue is very aesthetically pleasing and certainly deserving of the grade EF.
