GALBA, A.D. 68-69. AE Sestertius (26.23 gms), Rome Mint. NGC Ch F, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. Fine Style.
RIC-456. Obverse: Laureate head right; Reverse: Victory advancing left, holding palladium and palm frond. This large bronze denomination, issued during the brief reign of Galba before his murder by his successor, is well deserving of the choice status and fine style that NGC has designated to it. With excellent centering, nice surfaces, and a strong strike, well travelled examples of Sestertii can be difficult to encounter.
Estimate: $500 - $750
