MEXICO. Cob 8 Reales, ND (1556-98)-Mo O. Mexico City Mint. Philip II. NGC AU-55.
KM-43; Cal-type 194 #662. Weight: 27.34 gms. Pop: 3, none graded finer by NGC. A handsome and impressively heavy Cob, broadly struck with plenty of detail visible in the peripheral legends, though a few small flan cracks appear at the edges. The mintmark and assayer letter are bold, along with the '8' to the right of the shield. Quite a spectacular example of the type, with pleasing dusty gray toning throughout.
Estimate: $500 - $750
