MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1783-Mo FF. Mexico City Mint. Charles III. NGC Genuine.
KM-88.2; Cal-type 70 #673. An always popular sea salvaged type. This 2 Reales is mostly detailed on the obverse with more obvious salt damage on the reverse. Still a charming issue from a famous wreck. Comes with a handsome display box as well as a pamphlet about the ship and a certificate of authenticity.

Often referred to as the Shipwreck that Change the World. El Cazador was sailing to the port of New Orleans with coins to help bail out the local Spanish loyalists. As a result of the shipwreck, Spain was forced to sell the area to France, who then sold to the United States just a few years later. It is hard to saw what would have transpired had she made port.

Estimate: $100 - $200
