A captivating design, celebrating the defeat of the Spanish Armada, depicting four figures praying and wrecking ship. The Battle of Gravelines, off the coast of France, marked the rise of the British Navy, commanded by Sir Francis Drake, over so-called "Invincible Armada". Thought Spain remained a powerful enemy, the British sailors began challenging the Spaniards with greater confidence. A reflective example weaving razor-sharp devices and graciously toned with lilac-golden shades.
