Rx: LIBERALIA[S] / [AVG IIII] in exergue, COS - IIII on l. and r. respectively, S - C across field, Largesse scene: Emperor seated l. on curule chair on platform, officer or lictor standing l. behind him, Liberalitas standing l. before him holding coin counter and cornucopia, recipient standing r. on ground before platform, holding out toga to receive coins from Liberalitas. This largesse was distributed on the occasion of the marriage of Marcus Aurelius Caesar and Faustina II, in Spring 145. Acquired from Frank Kovacs, 1990. Earlier in the George Bauer Collection, according to Kovacs' ticket, where the name is misspelled Brauer. Not in Glendining's Bauer Collection Sale Catalogue of 23 January 1963, but that was only part of the collection, as the catalogue states.. VF
