Rare Brasseux Prefatory Publication
Brasseux aîné. CATALOGUE DES MÉDAILLES DE L'HISTOIRE NUMISMATIQUE DE NAPOLÉON, COMME GÉNÉRAL, CONSUL ET EMPEREUR, FRAPPÉES A LA MONNAIE DE PARIS, DEPUIS LA BATAILLE DE MONTENOTTE, EN 1796, JUSQU'À NOS JOURS. The introductory matter, including checklist descriptions, of this series of 110 Napoleonic medals struck at the Paris Mint. It is also found used as a preface to the fully illustrated version of the same title, which comes with 110 lithographic plates not here present. This version was presumably issued as a marketing tool to generate orders of the main work and the medals themselves. Ex Richard E. Margolis Library.
