Provenance
The Lost Collection of Simon English Esq.
Pickard, by private treaty, 1965 - £140.0.0
G V Doubleday, Glendining, 20 November 1961, lot 59*
Dr Ernest Christison Carter, collection dispersed by Baldwin from 1950 - £8.0.0
,
Regrettably the Montagu provenance reported by Doubleday is not correct on account of that coin being accessioned into the Schneider collection via the Roth (1917, lot 217) and Lockett (1958, lot 3131) dispersals.
Estimate: £600 - £1000
