OBS : | .: CARL :. | .1645., in three lines, extra short line above S and L, pierced rosette above and below, linear circle and border of dots surrounding, 4.82g, 1h (Nelson 3, Fig 6; Brooker 1220 same dies; North 2635; Spink 3138), peripheral nicks and pecking across a broad regular flan, dark cabinet tone an unusually bold and uniform strike for this iconic issue, about very fine for issue, very rare with perhaps only 20 examples recorded.
