KINGS of MACEDON. Antigonos I Monophthalmos. As Strategos of Asia, 320-306/5 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 17.22 g, 9h). In the name and types of Alexander III. Tyre mint. Struck under Menes. Dated RY 36 of 'Ozmilk (314/3 BC). Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; -|O (Phoenician 'K [= 'Ozmilk]) and ||| ||| – = (date [36 in Phoenician]) in left field. Price 3292 (Ake); Newell, Dated 41, obv. die XXXV; DCA 737. Lightly toned, indications of undertype on reverse, worn obverse die. VF.

From the Kenneth S. Abramowitz Collection.

At first glance, this coin appears to be dated RY 34, but it is actually 36--the first two digits of the date are engraved extremely close together, while the final digit is a tiny mark that partially melds with two dots of the border. The obverse die match confirms this reading.
