JUDAEA, Aelia Capitolina (Jerusalem). Elagabalus, with Severus Alexander as Caesar. AD 218-222. Æ (24mm, 7.31 g, 11h). Jugate laureate, draped and cuirassed busts of Elagabalus and Severus Alexander right / Facing quadriga carrying the sacred stone of Emesa, on which stands an eagle facing with spread wings, head right; in the exergue, branch. Meshorer, Aelia 143; Kadman, Aelia 151 corr.; Rosenberger 80 corr.; Sofaer 131. Rough blute-green surfaces with earthen deposits, some pitting. Good Fine. Very rare.

From the Dr. Jay M. Galst Collection..

Kadman and Rosenberger (following Kadman) identify the portraits as Elagabalus and Aquilia Severa but that seems unlikely.
