Struck while Joseph Suskind Oppenheimer, "Jud Suess," was the lessee of the Stuttgart mint and served as financial minister to the Duke of Württemberg (Friedenberg p. 26). Oppenheimer was seized and hanged in 1738 following the death of Duke Carl Alexander the previous year.
