Sikh Empire, Ranjit Singh (VS 1856-96; 1799-1839), Nanakshahi Rupees (2), Amritsar, VS 1878, 1879, the first with face-like symbol above takht on reverse, and St. Stephen's cross below leaf, the second with double circle above takht (Herrli 01.07.04; Gurprit Singh 01.39.01, 01.45.02, KM 20.1), the first with some marks on edge, darkly toned, very fine, and apparently uncatalogued for VS1878 with ancillary cross, the second also very fine, but a softer strike with test punch either side (2).
