Bombay, Duncan, Stratton and Co, AE trial or proving piece for a Rupee by Greenwood & Batley Ltd, Leeds, undated (c.1905-6), G & B monogram, rev. tiger standing left, 30mm (Bullmore, SNC 1979, p.439; Forc. D227), good very fine with a little obverse staining.
These coins were struck from coining presses ordered from the Leeds firm of Greenwood & Batley in 1905 by their agents in India: Duncan, Stratton & Co. of Bombay, for the Nizam of Hyderabad's mint.
