The sheer size, spending power, and thin paper all prevent this type from existing in high grade today. Yet, this example grades Choice Uncirculated and it is as such significantly better than typical. At the onset of this sale, this is only the second Uncirculated example to appear in a major auction in the last decade. Fully original and without the pinholes that typically plague French printed notes from this era, we are not quite sure why PMG deemed this note ineligeble for the "EPQ" designation. Regardless, impressive and very rare in this grade.
