James II (1685-88), Half-Guinea, 1687, laureate head left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, grained edge, 4.11g, 6h (Bull 341; MCE 134; S.3404), a small dent on the French shield, slightly creased resulting in flatness in the centre of the reverse and on curls along the laurel wreath on the obverse, otherwise the portrait is good fine and despite its defects the coin is attractive and has lustre.
Estimate: £700 - £900
