Constantinople Commemorative (ca. AD 330-340). AE3 or BI nummus (17mm, 2.38 gm, 5h). NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5. Antioch, 10th officina, ca. AD 332-333, struck under Constantine I to commemorate the moving of the Roman capitol from Rome to Constantinople. CONSTAN-TINOPOLIS, laureated helmet, wearing imperial cloaked bust of Constantinopolis left, reversed spear in left hand over shoulder / Victory standing left, right foot on prow, transverse scepter in right hand, left resting on grounded shield; SMANI in exergue.
