Andronicus III Palaeologus (AD 1328-1341). AR basilicon (20mm, 1.18 gm, 6h). VF, fragile. Light Series, Class IV, Constantinople. IC-XC barred, Christ, nimbate, standing facing on dais, right hand raised in benediction, book of Gospels in left; reversed B above rosette in left field, B above fleur-de-lis in right field / ΔHMHTPI-ANΔPONI, St. Demetrius (on left), nimbate, standing facing, holding cross, and Andronicus III (on right), standing facing, left hand on breast; Γ/O/A in central field. DOC 871-3. Sear 2473. Fragile and thin flan, thus ineligible for encapsulation.
