Issued to commemorate the UK's Presidency of the EU during the latter part of 1992 and the completion of the Single European Market, that came into effect on January 1st 1993.
Third crowned head of HM Elizabeth II facing right; engraver initials on the neck truncation; ELIZABETH II DEI · GRA · REG · F · D. Design by Raphael Maklouf. / Conference table seen from above, around which are arranged twelve chairs for each of the Council of Ministers. The head of the table shows the UK in the prominent position in recognition of the UK's presidency. Twelve Stars in the geographic positions of the capital cities of the European Community member countries, linked by a network of lines. Presidency dates 1992 and 1993 above, '50 PENCE' below. Designer's initials MMD between the table and the first E of PENCE. Design by Mary Milner Dickens. Edge plain.
