UNITED KINGDOM, AUSTRALIA.
Lot of 3 gold coins.

Coin 1: United Kingdom, Victoria, 1837-1901, Sovereign 1852. London. Mintage: 8,053,435. 22.05 mm. 7.9881 g. 917/1000 Gold. (AGW=0.2355 oz.)

Coin 2: Australia, Victoria, 1837-1901, Sovereign 1872 M. Melbourne. Shield. Mintage: 748,180. 22.05 mm. 7.99 g. 917/1000 Gold. (AGW=0.2355 oz.)
With the Melbourne mint just starting up in 1872, the calendar year mintage for this year was only 748,180 which includes both the Shield and St. George reverse types. Average mintage figures at this time stand in the millions, hence this is a very scarce coin in any grade.
