Cilicia, Nagidos AR Stater. Circa 385-375 BC. Aphrodite seated to left on throne, holding phiale in her outstretched right hand, being crowned by Eros flying to right, holding wreath; city monogram(?) within circle behind / [ΝAΓIΔIKON], Dionysos standing to left, holding thyrsos and bunch of grapes with tendrils. Cf. Lederer 10-12 for examples with city monogram not in circle; Cf. SNG BnF 4; cf. Traité II 1497; cf. Casabonne Type 2. 10.32g, 22mm, 1h.

Near Very Fine. Extremely Rare and unpublished.

Lederer records two examples which include the addition of what he proposed to be a city monogram to an obverse die seen elsewhere in his Group II (5-9). The present example uses dies unrecorded by Lederer (nor present in CoinArchives) with a similar obverse die to Lederer 10 but with the monogram within a circle.
