Seleukid Empire, Antiochus III 'the Great' AR Tetradrachm. Uncertain mint, possibly Seleukia on the Tigris, circa 242-227 BC. Diademed head to right / Apollo, testing arrow and placing hand on grounded bow, seated to left on omphalos; BAΣIΛEΩΣ to right, ANTIOΧOY to left, uncertain monograms to outer right and left. Cf. SC 1160 ff. for distinctive 'arabesque' design for diadem ribbons. 14.87g, 29mm, 12h.
