C. Piso L.f. Frugi. 61 BC. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.80 g, 6h). Rome mint. Head of Apollo right, hair bound with fillet; symbol (coiled snake?) behind / Winged horseman galloping left, holding whip, torch and reins; flaming torch above. Crawford 408/1b (O92/R116); Hersh, Piso 345 (O274/R3001); Sydenham 874; Calpurnia 27c; RBW 1480 (same dies). A trace of die rust on obverse, one small patch of porosity at reverse edge. Near EF.
