Tiberius. AD 14-37. Fourrée AR Denarius (18mm, 2.95 g, 12h). Hybrid "Tribute Penny" type with Gaius and Lucius reverse of Augustus. Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Group 5, AD 36-37. Laureate head right; short parallel ribbons / Gaius and Lucius Caesar, on left and right, standing facing, each togate and resting a hand on one of two shields set on ground between them; behind the shields, two crossed spears; above, on left, simpulum right, and on right, lituus left. Cf. RIC I 30 ([Tiberius] for obv.) and 207 ([Augustus] for rev.). Areas of plating broken, revealing bronze core beneath, cleaning marks. Fine. Unusual hybrid fourrée.
